CHALLENGE

Are you open to something new? With a global shortage of Heavy Diesel Technicians, Terra CAT needed to establish themselves as an employer of choice in the New Zealand market. They were looking inward at their own openness and wanted potential candidates to do the same.

SOLUTION

Part of the collaboration process with Terra CAT involved defining their message and creating "The Power of Openness" campaign which is still ongoing to this day. This, combined with a strategic media plan that utilises highly targeted digital channels alongside traditional media, ensures they maintain a dominant presence in the market.

Given that this was a bulk recruitment drive, our Candidate Management team stepped in to assist with the recruitment process. This includes processing applications and referrals, phone screens, reference checks, booking interviews, and entering into offer negotiations. On top of this, we also provide ongoing sourcing services to supplement candidates that come through Terra CAT's applicant tracking system, ensuring that the talent pipeline remains steady throughout the months.

Since launching this campaign in 2021, we have made 47 hires (and still counting!) for Heavy Diesel Technician and Electric Power Generation Technician roles. This partnership has been a huge success and continues to this day expanding beyond just Terra CAT's continued search for Heavy Diesel Technicians.
